What the game doesn't tell you is that in order to evolve you must complete evolution objectives(Like kill every predator) that advance years in the game once you pass generations. Once you figure out how its systems work, it is a very rewarding if not tedious game. The game is mostly about discovery as it does not tell you exactly how to do most things, some of which you need in order to survive. The survival mechanics are also very well developed, it took me awhile to figure out how to eat a coconut instead of just drinking it.
